Northrop Grumman is a leading global security company providing innovative systems, products and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems, and technical services to government and commercial customers worldwide.

In January 2009, Northrop Grumman announced several structural actions to strengthen alignment with its customers, improve the company’s program performance and growth potential, and enhance its cost competitiveness. These actions included streamlining its organizational structure, reducing the number of sectors from seven to four. The four sectors are Aerospace Systems, Electronic Systems, Information Systems and Technical Services.

Aerospace Systems
The Aerospace Systems sector, a merger of the former Integrated Systems and Space Technology sectors, created an approximately $10 billion business whose approximately 24,000 employees comprise a premier provider of manned and unmanned aircraft, space systems, missile systems and advanced technologies critical to our nation’s security.

Electronic Systems
Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced electronics for military, civil and commercial use. The sector provides a variety of defense electronics and systems, airspace management systems, navigation systems, precision weapons, communications systems, marine systems, space systems, government systems and logistics services.

Information Systems
Northrop Grumman Information Systems is a leading global provider of advanced solutions that deliver timely, enabling information where it’s needed most for its military, intelligence, civilian, state and local, and commercial customers. The sector is an $8.4 billion business employing more than 24,000 employees with offices in 50 states and 18 countries.

Technical Services
Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, Technical Services leverages and consolidates existing expertise that had resided in seven Northrop Grumman entities around the globe, including: Technical Services, Space Technology, Defense Enterprise Solutions, Federal Enterprise Solutions, Field Support Services, Technical Services and the Space Gateway Joint Venture, Enterprise Management Services and the NGTS Arabia Joint Venture. By drawing on the assets and strength of over 19,000 Northrop Grumman experts in infrastructure management and maintenance, training, and logistics and life-cycle management, the sector is now better positioned to offer their customers an even greater breadth of know-how and service.
